Amazon Picks: Rust Crush

|
This rust tiered skirt was one of my favorite new pieces this summer, and I'm so glad that this color is continuing to be popular in stores for fall. I guess that's not surprising since it's generally a fall color, but I'm happy about it anyway because it's grown on me a lot over the last few years and I'm not ready to set it aside. I'm trying to get some good use out of this skirt before the weather gets too cold for bare legs, and I have my eye on a few other pieces I'd like to try for actual fall weather!

Thanks to Amazon for providing my top and skirt in this outfit + thanks to Shopbop for my handbag.

So far I've always worn this skirt in casual outfits, and that was actually my plan when I was getting dressed on this day. I tried it on with this black off the shoulder tee, but once I had both pieces on, I thought it looked dressier than necessary for Saturday errands. I decided to save this combo for date night and just wore it with a basic tee for daytime, but then made a quick and easy change  back to this top for dinner!

These pieces are both very comfortable and have a straightforward true-to-size fit, which means I don't have a lot more to say about them since they're also both repeats! My earrings are the only new piece here, and they're a fun $12 Amazon find. I realized I only had one pair of Rose Gold earrings, so when I saw these I thought they'd be a fun addition!

Since we're talking my favorite Rust pieces from Amazon, I have to mention this cardigan again. It's lightweight and perfect for transition weather...or just Fall weather if you live in a warmer climate like me! I shared a few more ways to style this in Monday's post ICYMI!

I've seen so many other options for pieces in this color: everything from dresses to sweaters to earrings and shoes! I have a few of these on my cooler weather wishlist (especially Option Two!), but if you haven't tried it yet, you can always start small with something like earrings. And if you're not sure the color will flatter your skintone, a skirt (like mine above) or pants would be a good place to start since the color isn't right next to your face. Here are some additional shopping options from Amazon. Most are under $50 but the shoes are a little more so I had to call it "Under $100."
ONE: Top $18 (Over 1,000 positive reviews)
TWO: Sweater $32
THREE: Dress $24
FOUR: Boots $80
FIVE: Earrings $12
SEVEN: Tie Waist Pants $39

Also, just a little tip: let's say you want to see more sweater options in this color. If you've tried searching for "Rust Sweater" and can't find anything you like, try searching for Burnt Orange or Brick Red instead. Some of the pieces I found above came up under those search terms but not under rust!

How are you all feeling about this color for fall? Are you still loving it or over it already? Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

  1. You're right Gina, this is a great color for fall! I love your skirt and can see why it's a favorite of yours. And what is it about the extra layer of a cardigan, blazer, kimono etc that adds so much to an outfit??

  10. Too funny we both did a "rust" post today! I love the rust skirt. And, as you were talking about getting as much wear out of it before "winter" - I was trying to think if it could be styled for winter. Anyway, I have a feeling that outfit will get picked for a favorite look on someone's blog next week! I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
