Mixed Metal Jewelry Staples

|
Lately mixed metal jewelry pieces are my go-to for accessorizing. They're no-brainers because they match with everything! From the colors in my outfit to the hardware on my handbag, if I'm wearing mixed metal pieces everything magically coordinates. If you're not sure about which jewelry pieces to wear with an outfit, I highly recommend building up your mixed metal collection. Once you have a few key pieces and you'll be set for almost any outfit. These are my exact (except the watch) mixed metal staples at the moment:
ONE |  TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX

My watch is actually by Fossil they didn't have a current option that matched the style of mine as well as this Michael Kors version. It's a similar price to mine, and since Fossil makes a lot of Michael Kors accessories it's possible they're essentially the same watch with different branding.

Here's an example of some my favorites paired with an outfit:

These pieces also end up being my "capsule jewelry wardrobe" when I'm traveling (picking just 1-2 of the necklaces options to take with me). I used to travel with a giant case of jewelry to match with each outfit and it was such a hassle. Now I just wear the pieces of my jewelry capsule while I'm en route, only packing alternates if I have something specific I really want for a certain outfit or occasion.

Some of my jewelry pieces are a bit of a splurge, so if you're not into splurging on jewelry and accessories, no problem! I tracked down a few Save options for some of my favorite pieces:
SPLURGE: ONE ($85) | TWO ($65) | THREE ($34) | FOUR ($170)
SAVE: FIVE ($23) | SIX ($11) | SEVEN ($11 + Shipping) | Budget Watch Option ($51)

The other thing I love about mixed metals is that they mix just as well with solid metals as they do with each other. So I can wear my mixed metal watch and bracelet with a gold necklace and earrings...or silver necklace and earrings. As much as I generally like putting together outfits, sometimes once I've figured out top, pants, shoes and jacket/cardigan that works...having to make the jewelry coordinate too is just more than I want to think about so it's nice to have some easy options!
Here's the latest of what's going on in the blog world, real life, and a few other notes!

1. On the Blog This Week: On Wednesday I'm sharing some pants from a newer-to-me brand (not sponsored...just branching out!) that will be great for business casual or just casual wear. It's also time for the "What's Up Wednesday" link up so I'll be doing my usual end-of-month update.

2. In Real Life: Halloween! I just realized I haven't purchased any candy to pass out at Halloween, even though I just went to the store today! Argh! I guess I better make take care of that ASAP! I usually do Skittles to balance out the abundance of chocolate and hard candy that seem more popular. I'm not exactly dressing up myself, but I'll share my "costume" in another post this week.

4. Newsletter News: If you haven't signed up for my newsletter because you're worried that I'm going to send excessive emails re-hashing everything I've posted here...rest assured that's not the case! I'm currently sending them out once a month with unique content and exclusive giveaways. (Congrats to this month's winner Djuana!) 1. I really like these pieces and have always loved mixed metals. Like you said, I love that you can add in just the one metal to the mix. I got real ya, my eye is on those splurge earrings, so darling. Have a super sweet Monday! xo

    1. Thanks Andrea! You will not regret the splurge earrings! They aren't actually too pricey (under $50) but you know....when you can get earrings for $10-20 at Target $34 can seem like a splurge. ;)

  2. I love mixed metals, in fact my wedding band is platinum and gold and I've never tired of looking at even after 24 years, lol. I am so impressed with those "save" options you found - I do love KS jewelry because it holds up so well but the $10.99 option would be great.
Have a super week - can't wait to read about the pants you're sharing on Wednesday!

    1. Wow, you were ahead of the trend with your wedding bands! And I hear you on the KS stuff. I've splurged on some of her pieces and I don't regret it with the more timeless styles, but some of the seasonal, colorful stuff...I should probably have gone with something less expensive since it goes out of style more quickly.

  3. I mostly wear gold but I love mixed metal pieces. That MK watch is cute and that bracelet looks like a David Yurman piece.

    1. Yes, it's a great David Yurman dupe! That line has several pieces. I did a round up of a few in a post awhile back but I think I need to update it and repost. There are a couple I want for myself anyway since they feature a lot of mixed metal.

  4. I've been wearing a lot of mixed metal accessories too, especially Kate Spade. I just bought that crescent moon necklace for my daughter so tell me they are very popular.
Oh... and I forgot to get Halloween candy too and have to make a special trip back to the store, ugh.

    1. I know...I hate trips to the store for just one forgotten thing! The worst! And I will have to check out Kate Spade's mixed metal pieces! Thanks for telling me about those.

  5. I've become such a gold girl over the years that I practically banished all silver from my jewelry collection - however mixed pieces would be a great way to have a little silver still in my life. I love the horn necklace!

    1. If you're an "all gold" or "all silver" person that's pretty nice too because you already know everything matches!

  7. I love mixed metals! It took me a few years to come around but I'm all about them now. Stella & Dot does mixed metals so well, and I need to add a couple more pieces to my Fall and Winter wardrobe. I tend to wear more mixed metallics this time of year, while I'm alllll about gold in Summer :)

    1. You know, i don't even know when these started to pick up in popularity! I don't feel like mixed metal ever became hugely popular (most people seem to prefer one metal or another) but there are definitely MORE options in the last few years.

    1. Ooh, you should try just one mixed metal piece! It really brings it all together. And glad I'm not the only Halloween candy procrastinator here!

  10. I like mixed metals, although I don't have many jewelry pieces with both on them, I usually just stack gold and silver pieces together haha! :)

Hope that you are having a nice start to your week :)

  11. I love mixed metal jewelry! Not only is it so trendy but it makes it so easy to incorporate different gold and/or silver pieces into the outfit! I used to struggle picking which to accentuate in my outfit... gold or silver... now I don't have to!

  12. Mixing metals is super fun- and pieces like this bridge the gap so you can layer on silver and gold elements of your own and it all seems very cohesive!
