Abercrombie Favorites + Fall Trends

|
Happy Labor Day friends! Thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day to stop by my blog! I hope you have some fun and/or relaxing plans for the day. I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing yet, but I do hope it involves sleeping in and doing a little reading at some point. On Friday I shared four of my current favorite pieces from Express that will take you from Summer to Fall. Express is having a storewide 40% off sale, and so is Abercrombie, one of my other favorite retailers for casual, comfortable basics. Today I'm sharing a few Abercrombie favorites that have been really worthwhile purchases for me.

This neutral cardigan from is the perfect transition weight. Not too heavy, not too thin. Throw it on over any number of neutral basics and you're good to go. It's true to size, and generally I find Abercrombie sizing to run about the same as Express. (I'm wearing an XS in this cardigan.)

By the way, this LOFT cami is another favorite that's on major sale for Labor Day. I have it in a few colors (pink, white, and black) and it's also true to size. Most of my other pieces are from past seasons so I've done my best to find some similar options for you in the links above. And as usual, I'm sharing a few more ways to wear this cardigan, specifically styled for fall.
TWO: Cardigan | Olive Tank | Black Jeans | Shoes (Similar + More Sizes) | Necklace

Another one of my Abercrombie all-time favorites that's included in the 40% off Sale is this Asymmetrical Snap Pullover. I tried the dupe version from Amazon last year and they just had a slightly less comfortable, less flattering cut. Plus...they didn't have pockets! Pockets make everything better, right? I have two colors and that's all I can really justify in my wardrobe, but they do have several options. Regarding sizing for these: I'm wearing a Small. I wear XS or S in tops depending on how the top is made and how I want it to fit. With this sweatshirt, I liked the extra length of the small because it meant I could wear it with leggings.

ONE: Shop: FRAME Tops (Cheetah Cami)
TWO: Shop: Z Supply (Camo Pants)
THREE: Shop: Tory Burch Handbags (Fleming Distressed)
FOUR: Shop: Belt Bags (Mackage Jayme)

If you want to stay on top of the trends for 2018 (and maybe take advantage of Labor Day Sales to add some of them to your closet), I browsed the new arrivals at Shopbop to look for trends in the top brands. There were four things I saw over and over again among the new arrivals: Leopard/Cheetah Print (I'm lumping them together because I've even seen top designers mislabel them...), Camo, Red, and Belt Bags!

I usually only like one or two trends per season, but surprisingly, I actually like all of these! And luckily I have a little bit of each already in my closet so I don't feel compelled to buy a bunch of new things to stay on trend. I still haven't started carrying a belt bag in place of a crossbody for date night or regular family outings, but they really are the best for travel so I'm glad they're sticking around.  How about you all? Are you adopting any or all of these trends for Fall 2018?

Coming Up on the Blog This Week: On Wednesday I'm joining the ladies of The Blended Blog to style a transitional outfit for their Fall Fashion Frenzy series. I'm so glad they're doing this because it really helped me get organized in planning my content for the month!  I'll also be linking up with Anne on Wednesday to share what I'm currently Starting, Buying, Sharing, Reading and Recording. On Friday I'll be sharing a really cute, under $25 dress. It's one of the options I showed in this post. I decided to order and try it so I could review it since a few people expressed interest in it.

In Real Life: The rest of the week will be busy with work and school! Wednesday is Back to School night and I'm excited to go and meet the teachers...or at least put faces to names. In Middle School, back to school night doesn't allow quite as much quality time with each teacher as elementary school. I am also doing No Shop September! I'll share a little more about that in the Currently portion of Wednesday's post!

Have a great week!

    1. It didn't end up being a day off but luckily I love my job so I don't mind. :) And yes...I love my camo jeans so I have no doubt I'd wear camo joggers just as much!

  2. Happy Labor day! This cardigan looks so cozy but as you know no shopping for me. The one thing I wanted was a good camo jacket, I think I finally found the one. I also wanted a nice pair of loafers. Other than that I don't really have any trends in mind. I'm trying to stay away from new arrivals.

  4. You do shorts and cardigans so well! Honestly that's the perfect fall outfit for Florida! Can you believe I didn't shop any sales this weekend, well except for Sephora but no clothes! That's crazy!
I remember going from class to class to meet the teacher when my boys were in middle school and then in high school. My husband and I always had to divide and conquer. It was fun to travel their schedules and see what their school life was like, enjoy!

  5. Ooh I love that cardigan and I just looked and it's still on sale. I'm really tempted to get the olive color. Enjoy back to school night! It was really chaotic when I went to ours last month, so I'm looking forward to conferences so that I can have an actual conversation with Jona's teacher! I'm sure it's a whole different world with middle school, eek!

    1. OOh, glad it's still on sale! And yeah...in Middle School it's not a great quality meet and greet since you're shuffling through numerous classrooms for a quick presentation. The main thing I get out of it is putting a face to the teacher's names so I can corner them at other school events and get updates on my students! LOL!!
