Black Sundress + Bomber Jacket

|
Last week was a fun one here since it felt a little like a mini staycation with my mom in town. She came to see the kids Spring music concerts, but we had fun doing some touristy stuff during the day while the kids were in school. This week's agenda looks a little boring in comparison, but c'est la vie. Not every week can be fun and exciting! I suppose the same goes for today's outfit. Everything here is a staple piece that I've shared before, so it's nothing new and exciting. But they're good pieces all the same so I'm sure this won't be the last time I share them, either.

JACKET: This jacket runs true to size and is an easy neutral to pair with just about anything. It's stretchy and not too heavy, and I tend to use it in place of a denim jacket when I'm wearing an outfit with jeans since I'm not too comfortable with "Canadian Tuxedo" look for myself. You can see a few other outfit ideas for this jacket here.

SUNDRESS: This dress is also true to size and even comes in Petite and Tall sizes so you have quite a few options for best length and fit. I'm 5'4" and wearing the Regular Length. It's just right for me since I wouldn't want it any longer or shorter. It also comes in a lot of other fun colors and prints if you want something more seasonal and bright than black.

SANDALS: These sandals are very comfortable, and the low block heel makes it easy to do plenty of walking. They ran true to size and come in lots of other colors. I also have these and black and felt like those two colors covered all the bases for me last summer.

Here's a little Monday Memorandum (a.k.a. random chit chat) before you go today!

1. Fitness Motivation: This article explains why Exercises like Walking, Yoga, and Tai Chi offer the most cognitive benefits as we age, and why consistency matters more than duration or intensity. Sunday night walks are a tradition for my husband and I enjoy, so now we have even more motivation to keep it up!

2. Pool Fun: I'm sure we have some pool days ahead of us this summer, although we don't have our own pool so we don't get to use some of the fun pool accessories I have been seeing all over the internet. If we did I can tell you I would be all about these! They crack me up and have come a long way since the days of the simple raft that had a cup holder if you were lucky!

3. Monday Motivation: On last week's Instagram Story Challenge, our Monday topic was favorite quotes and we had lots of participation on that one. I took screenshots of quite a few that I liked and wanted to remember, so here's one of my favorites (posted by Kristi) before I sign off today:

“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.”  --Dalai Lama XIV

  2. This is such a cute look on you, I love it! I started doing Yoga every sunday morning and I'm so looking forward to that now, I love it! I think we can all agree that regular exercises are just good for us all around. My friend has a huge pool at her house and I totally got her these drink holders.

  11. Now that's quite a chic way to use the bomber jacket! Lovely black dress dear, and such a pretty contrast of texture and color with the jacket. Sassy look!
