Outfits on the Daily 3/11/16

Earlier this week I talked about some of the differences between life in Seattle and San Diego (here) and one thing I didn't mention was that everyone in our family got sick a lot more often when we lived in Seattle. I think it was largely due to being cooped up indoors a lot there, whereas we get a lot more fresh air here. Regardless, my good luck has run out this week and I have a wicked head cold. I had forgotten how run-down these things can make you feel! I'm hoping for a speedy recovery but it doesn't take that much energy to sit at a computer and put together an outfits + fitness recap for today, so here we go...

Fitness Recap:

Here's a look at the workouts I did this week built around the weight training in these DVDs:

Saturday: Yoga. Eoin Finn Pursuit of Happy Hips (All Downhill Premix)
Sunday: Dance Class (Local Studio)
Monday: Legs: Cathe Lower Body Blast
Tuesday: Cardio: Turbo Fire Fire 30 + Abs: Cathe Muscle Endurance
Wednesday: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps: Mix & Match from Cathe Muscle Max + STS Total
Thursday: Yoga. Eoin Finn Power Yoga for Happiness (Magically Hips Premix)
Friday: Back, Biceps: Mix & Match from Cathe Muscle Max + STS Total

Notes and Modifications:
This week I did a lot of mixing and matching from a variety of workouts to create my weight training program. While it's kind of a hassle to switch out DVDs, the variety (in exercises, scenery, etc.) keeps me from getting bored. Power Yoga for Happiness is still my all-time favorite yoga workout, and Amazon currently has a few used copies for a reasonable price. I'm writing this post on a Thursday so Friday's workout may get bumped due to my cold if I'm not feeling up to it, but most likely I'll just power through and maybe lower my weights a little if needed.

Just keeping it simple today and looking forward to a fun, busy weekend. As always I'll try to post some weekend highlights on Snapchat (@ontheDailyX) for those who follow me there. Hopefully the highlights will include a full recovery from this cold and some good times with friends and family! And maybe a little shopping since there is a 25% off promo code at Express right now (see my side bar). As always there are a few pieces on my wishlist so I'll report back if I get anything.

  1. OH No sorry you're sick. Get some rest and you should totally bump the workout, the best remedy for a cold is rest. I learned that the hard way, working out actually make it worse. As always you look cute and put together.

  2. The striped cardi and pink cami combo is perfection...I hope you feel better soon!

  3. Love that striped sweater! Really cute. Have a great weekend Gina!

  4. Love that yellow bag! You have the cutest collection! Hope you are feeling better and have a wonderful weekend!

  5. I hope you feel better soon! Head colds are the worst, and even though you might be feeling crummy, you look amazing! I love those distressed jeans! I like it when the jeans are distressed, but you can't see a bunch of skin. So cute!

  6. Colds suck. They suck even more when you're a mom and still have to get up and do everything. I do hope you're feeling better soon. As always, all of your outfits look great, but I really do like the camel jacket with the stripes. I jealous of the sandals you're wearing (another benefit of San Diego). This makes me want a pedicure. Feel better.

  7. Great outfits as always :)

  8. I love your yellow bag Gina. I hope you are feeling better. xo ~ Megan The Fashionista Momma

  9. Gina, I hope you feel better soon. Being sick - stinks! I love how you styled your yellow bag. I just ordered a new pair of white jeans - so I am going to copy your look #2.

  10. That first outfit is perfection! I always love a pop of pink this time of year! Interesting that you got sick more in Seattle, I can see that as it seems as soon as March comes around and we all get outside more, the sickies seem to subside in our household... which can be a huge relief! Oh, and that neon yellow bag is so perfect- I have a neon yellow clutch... but, could always use a bag, too!

  11. I love that first outfit! The sweater and color of your cami are perfect! I hope you feel better Gina! Head colds are the worst!

  16. So sorry to hear you're sick girl. I know how hard that can hit when you're always on the go. I guess sometimes it's our bodies way of forcing us to slow down. Get some rest girl! I love how the pink cami looks with the striped cardigan!
