Barcelona Cami Collection

|
It's hard for me to say no to post topic requests, so today I am complying with Erin's request to see my full collection of Barcelona Camis all in one place. I am pretty sure I have shared all of them on the blog in one place or another, but today they're all here with a final tally and some feedback on most vs. least-used versions.

First things first, I went to my closet and took inventory. Final Count: 17.

Favorite/Most-Used:

No doubt about it, my most versatile, most used Barcelona Cami is white.
Sweater: Express / Cami: Express / Pants: Expess (Similar) / Sandals: Target / Necklace: Express / Red Crossbody: Stella & Dot (Similar)

In looking through my past outfit pictures this one comes up over and over again. Here are a few more ways I've worn it for every season:

All the Rest and the Least Used

I think my Black Barcelona Cami is my second-most used, with all the rest ranking somewhere after that. However, the one I placed last today is the one I think I use the very least...

Classic Colors:
All Classic Colors HERE. Black/Tile Blue/ Engine Red / Ink Blue

Limited Edition/Seasonal Colors and Prints:
(Exact colors currently sold out. Current Solid Options Here)

Bahama Coral: Here / Yellow and Coral Stripe: Here / Pink Ribbon & Snakeskin Print Sold Out

Red Stripe (Sold Out) / Grid Print (Sold Out, Similar) / B&W Stripes: Here / Lace Inset (Sold Out)

I haven't worn my lace inset cami (last row, bottom right) once yet in 2015. It feels too dressy to me for everyday wear in my casual lifestyle. And when I do have evening plans, I still don't reach for it much because I don't like how it looks with a jacket or blazer, and I always want one of those to stay warm at night. I'm holding on to it because I still like it, but if I decide to reduce inventory it will  be the first to go!

  1. You have an amazing collection, I love the new brocade blue but I'm being good for now. I didn't get the lace insert one because I knew I wouldn't wear it as much, but it is very dressy. I looooove all my printed ones. I might just wear a barcelona cami today.

    1. I wish I had your foresight about the lace one! Although I did get it for a specific event so it was still cheaper than buying a new dress or whole new outfit. As much as I wish I used it more at least it served its purpose.

  2. Love that you wear pieces a lot and layer them differently. So many times I feel like I buy something and just wear it once so I'm really looking to buy classic pieces that can be worn many ways. Really like the coral and yellow stripped one!

    1. Thank you so much, and that striped one would be flattering on both of you!

  3. Next time there's a big sale on these camis (or on the portofino shirts) I'm going to buy some! I finally tried some on this weekend and they look SO flattering on. Really like them, so I know I'll have to get some eventually! They look great in a casual way and I bet they would be perfect for work (luckily my job is really casual, but I still like to look semi-professional..with jeans though!). Thanks for sharing, Gina!

    1. I'm hoping there will be a big sale on Labor Day so I can't wait to see what you get. And yes, they work really well for office wear too with blazers, dress slacks or skirts. Rachelle (pinksole.com) always does a great job of showing more professional looks with these!

  6. Aww! I'm sad for your lace cami! That's still my all time favorite. The only reason I don't wear it more is because it's so recognizable! Now you're making me want to wear it again! Looking at your collection, I realize that I don't have as many solids. I do love this cami a lot a lot, but the only downside is that it can get snug around my hips so a partial tuck can get awkward but wearing it just totally untucked makes me feel pregnant unless I have a jacket over it. Such a struggle! It was clearly made for you though!!! Carylee | http://morepiecesofme.com

    1. I think the "recognizable" factor is another strike against it! If I wear it to an event I feel like it needs some time before I wear it again. Whereas with black or white I can style it in such different ways it doesn't look like the same outfit over and over again. It's not that I don't love the lace, it's just my least used because I HAD to pick one!

  7. The truth is out! LOL. In all reality, this is not as many as I expected, and for the amount you wear these, your collection is totally justified. Especially since you wear them in all seasons. I always think I should go buy the white and black because I think I would get a lot of wear out of them, but I talk myself out of it because I have a black one that has thicker sleeves so it can be worn with a normal bra. I do love the stripes too though!

    1. Ha! I'm glad it's not as many as you expected! Maybe it's because they are reversible so it can seem like more. With most of them I don't use both sides (usually there's only one color that flatters me), but I'm sure I reverse enough of them to make it seem like 20+ different camis. Eek. Like you said, though, I do wear them all seasons so I feel justified!

  8. the lace cami is cute, but i totally understand why you don't wear it as much. my favourite colours are the pretty pastel ones - so pretty!

  11. Wow friend, I'm impressed! That's quite the collection! I thought I had you beat, but definitely not! I love these though, they are so versatile and are great on their own or under a blazer or jacket. In Cali, they are perfect for any season. I keep eyeing more colors, but have decided to take a little break until I do some Fall shopping. My white camis are getting a little discolored so I think I'm going to donate the two that I have and get another in white come Fall. I really want a navy or royal blue as well :)

    1. Yes, I think our climate contributes to the reason that I love them and use them so much. Great on their own in the summer, simple to layer for fall or winter since we don't have to be too bundled up! I love the grey one on you! It looked pretty with the white sweater you wore to lunch. :)

  12. P.S. - My new personal favorite is the one I wore to lunch with you. I wear that more than any of them lately!

  13. You wear these camis so well. Seventeen is totally justifiable. I actually don't have one. I bought one in the pink paisley print and never wore it. It just didn't fit me right. I have weird shoulders and a lot of sleeveless things cut me off weird.

  14. Ok, you've convinced me. The next time I'm at Express, I'm getting a Barcelone cami. They just look so good on you and you proved how versatile it is. I guess I'll find out when I get there but are the straps adjustable?

  15. You have a great collection of these camis. I recently bought similar camis from Loft and do like it but need to get more strapless bras before I buy more. I need to pick up one the next time I am near Express.

  16. Oh my I can't believe how many of these camis you have - too funny! They look great on you so I can see why you keep buying them! I'm going to have to pick up a few myself, they are such a great versatile top. I especially love the neon coral one - right up my alley!

  17. I love that you wear/ have so many of these and at times you cannot even tell they are the same shirt in different colors. You always know how to pair pieces and use them so well. I just wish this top fit me, but alas it does not. I have tried and struggled so many times!

  23. You have definitely gotten a lot of great wear out of your camis! I love them all on you especially the pink, blue and red striped one! I could have sworn you had more than 17 of them though girl! :)

    1. It might seem like more because they are reversible! I don't wear the reverse side on all of them (usually only one of the two colors flatters me), but I probably do it on enough of them to make it seem like I have 20+.
