Black Friday Favorites

|
Happy Friday! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! Are you heading out to brave the crowds in the stores today? I only shop online, though we have ended up at Target a few times on Black Friday for other household needs and may have to do it again today. It hasn't been too bad later in the afternoon when the early birds are back home taking naps. At any rate, as usual for a big sale I'm sharing a few favorite selections. Some of my exact items are not in stock, but my emphasis is more on the category than any specific item as you'll see below!
ONE: Express Blazers | Tank | Jeans | Similar Pumps | Belt |  Handbag (c/o Shopbop)

ONE: I have a few neutral Express blazers (black, tan, and the grey one shown) that have held up really well over the years. I do get them dry cleaned (they are not machine washable anyway) and don't need them for everyday wear, but I love having those few options on hand to dress up even a casual jeans and tee/tank outfit. I like them because they have a lot of nicely tailored options that give some detail at the waist. I wear an XS in tops and wear a 0 or 2 in blazers, but I only wear them open, never buttoned. I would probably need to size up again if I wanted to button the front. They're not the most affordably priced item at Express but definitely worth checking out during Black Friday to get some great fitting, classic options for your closet.

TWO: Accessories are such a fun way to add a little trendiness to an otherwise classic outfit without spending a fortune, and these Double-O Ring Belts (shown in Outfit One and Two) have gotten plenty of use since I purchased them last winter. They also have a burgundy option with a few more sizes, or you can browse all belts here.

THREE: To read my blog for any amount of time is to know that Express jeans are my favorite! The only other brand I own at this point is Abercrombie jeans, and I do actually prefer Abercrombie's Black Jeans (also on sale) to my Express pair for what it's worth. Jeans are on my No Buy list at the moment because I don't have room for any more in my closet. But if you're browsing for a new pair you can't beat the 50% off pricing! Here's a round-up post with with some of my Express jeans favorites. Some of the exact pairs are sold out but quite a few there are still in stock (and have been Express staples for years). Also, jeans I'm wearing in Outfit One look much lighter in my photo than the stock photo, but I've had that exact product linked saved in a folder since I bought those jeans a few years ago. Mine were called "Faded Medium Wash," which is still the exact product name. So I'm not sure if they changed the rinse on them or if their photo just makes them look darker than real life, but either way I didn't want you to think I was misleading you with the link.

On Monday I'm planning to share a few more still-in-stock current favorites at Express, but I wanted to use a little space to talk about big sales from some of my other favorite brands. I focus mainly on affordable fashion here, but like most women I do have a few splurge favorites. And all of my favorites are having pretty great deals right now!

Kendra Scott: Save 20-30% on all purchases, no code necessary. The Elle Earrings are my favorite mid-size style (I'm wearing them in Outfit One above), and I have them in a few colors. Personally, my most-used option is the Gold + White Mother of Pearl combo shown in the collage. That may also be a blogger thing because I find them easier to photograph than some of my others! The Elisa necklace in gold + platinum drusy is my favorite Kendra Scott necklace (more of my jewelry staples in this post), and it also makes a great gift! I've given quite a few of these away to friends, family, and teachers, and from what I've seen it ends up getting used by all of them because it just goes with everything!

Tory Burch: Tory Burch bags are definitely a splurge, but their storewide 30% off sale (with code THANKS) is the best deal I've ever seen there! My Fleming Convertible Shoulder Bag (c/o Shopbop -more details on their Black Friday Sale here) is a favorite. I have the regular sized one, not the small one and it holds all of my everyday stuff surprisingly well! (Small wallet, keys, sunglasses, and even my Kindle). It also has an exterior flap for my phone, which is a must for me with bags these days.

Stella & Dot: Stella & Dot has a big selection of pieces marked 60% off for Black Friday. The Amelia Necklace is marked down to $30 (from $129!) and would be a great holiday statement necklace! It's convertible so you can wear it four different ways.

Want some more budget-friendly Black Friday deals? No problem. Let's talk Amazon fashion deals!

Amazon Essentials: This line is super affordable, and this exact cardigan is on special pricing for Black Friday. It comes in 6 neutral colors and gets great reviews! Under $20 today only!

Cable & Stitch: My sweater in Outfit One up above is also from Cable & Stitch, and it really is a nice quality piece. Several Cable & Stitch Pieces are included in the Amazon Exclusive Brands Sale, including this sweater option that comes in 5 colors. Under $30 today only!

Daily Ritual: I saved the best for last! Daily Ritual is my favorite Amazon exclusive brand, partly because the casual pieces are well suited to my lifestyle, but mainly because they are so comfortable and so affordably priced! A number of their pieces will be included in the sale, but I'm especially glad that this t-shirt dress is included because I have it and highly recommend it! It's just $14 for today only! It doesn't look like anything special on the model, but it's just so easy to throw on and top it off with any kind of layer for a complete outfit...but still feel like you're wearing full body leggings. I did a full post with this dress back in August with three ways to wear it, but here's a quick look at the dress on me:

I am going to be buying these Daily Ritual Ponte Knit Leggings. They're regularly $20, only $14 for Black Friday! They're leggings that look like regular pants and have great reviews so they sound perfect for my lifestyle. Plus, they come in Short, Regular and Tall lengths!

Okay friends, that's it for today! I already made this post longer than I intended because once I got the ball rolling, I kept thinking of more I wanted to share! I can't wait to hear what you're shopping for today or how you're spending the weekend if you're trying to avoid shopping too much!

  1. Hope you have fun shopping the black Friday sales! We have a few sales at this time of year to match America, but nothing huge. Our boxing day sales are the big ones, but I avoid the crowds and do any shopping online if I am shopping!

Hope that you are having a nice week and had a great thanksgiving :)

  3. I placed an Express order yesterday but today I'm relaxing at home. My husband went out early to Lowe's to grab a few things but I slept in and it was glorious! I'll head out later to our local At Home store to pick up a few things. I don't do crowds, they make me so uncomfortable and there just isn't anything I need that badly! I'm going to order something from Daily Ritual, you have me convinced!

  6. I was in Express early this morning and I was kind of underwhelmed! There was so much throwback 90's inspired pieces that I couldn't look past. Though the staples you mentioned would have been good choices if I were in the market for them. I will say though, I was laser focused this year and trying to stick to my own list of needs, so that could also explain why I was underwhelmed. Also - you remind me I haven't shopped Stella and Dot in awhile!!
