Pink Tie-Front T-Shirt + Friday Four

|
I've shared this tie-front t-shirt in selfie format a couple of times on the blog, but I still wanted to give it a solo post today since it's one of my favorite pieces this season and it's still fully stocked. Tie-front and knot-front t-shirts and tanks seem like they have been gaining popularity over the last couple of years, and after wearing this style a few times I can understand why. They're comfortable, low fuss and flattering...basically everything I want in pieces for my casual, everyday outfits.
T-Shirt (in Light Pink) | Jeans | Shoes | Necklace | Earrings | Tory Burch Crossbody

T-SHIRT: This shirt comes in nine colors and several stripe versions, so if this exact shade isn't for you, it's worth looking at the other options to see what might suit you best. My exact color is "Light Pink," although to me this looks more peachy or coral, so if you were interested in this color don't let the name mislead you. It does run true to size, but after trying on two sizes I went one size up (I'm wearing a Small here) for a bit more relaxed fit and extra length in the torso.

JEANS: These run true-to-size, and at 5'4" I prefer the Short length. Even though they're "ankle jeans" they do come in Short, Regular, and Long, but sizing is a little limited right now on the different lengths. This style has been around for quite awhile so I wouldn't be surprised if they re-stock them all again before Fall.

EARRINGS: I'm wearing the 2" size (the $10 option) of these leather earrings. They come in plenty of other prints and color options, and you can use code: ONTHEDAILYX for 15% off your next order from Luna & Loki Designs.

SHOES: These shoes are true to size and have 51 5-star reviews! The reviews are what sold me on them originally since I thought they were cute but they didn't look comfortable. They really are surprisingly comfortable. I mean, I wouldn't wear them hiking or to chaperone a field trip, but for my usual routine of errands, after school activities, etc. they're great.

My handbag is an older style from Tory Burch and when I carry it I can never seem to find an option that's close enough to call "similar" to link here. But I am talking about some other fun summer handbag options in my Friday Four that would be just as cute with this outfit (if not moreso for the season) so scroll down to see those!

1. Colorful Clutches for Summer
What I really wish I had (but didn't) to complete today's outfit was some kind of fun, brightly colored clutch or crossbody bag. My handbags are all pretty neutral, but I think something like one of these options would be so fun for summer. I wear a lot of neutral clothes so this would be an easy way to add color without buying an entirely new wardrobe.
Top L-R:  Shop Sam Edelman Bags (Pruden) | Shop Rebecca Minkoff Clutches (Leo)
Bottom L-R: Shop Ashiana London (Striped Anchor) | Shop The Way U Clutches (La Playa)

All of these are brand name options from Shopbop, but some are pretty affordable (e.g. under $50 for lots of Ashiana London options). Are you into seasonal handbags or do you stick to neutrals year round? I always find it hard to balance practicality vs. fun in this department!

2. Top Clicks
I love when bloggers share their top-clicked items- I just find it fascinating to see what clicks with the most people, even if it's not something I would purchase myself. I would be all over those stats if retail stores ever shared them! I've been trying to remember to share that info here as well for those of you who share my fascination. Now that May is officially in the books, I can tell you that the #1 item was the tie-front t-shirt I'm wearing above. (You all have good taste!) The second most-clicked item was this blazer/jacket/cardigan, as seen in this post.

3. Kindle Cover
If I could have a "find my iPhone" for my Kindle, I would get it in a heartbeat! I take my Kindle everywhere and unfortunately I set it down and misplace it everywhere, too. I finally realized part of the problem in finding it was that it had a black cover so it blended in a lot of places and I couldn't see it right in front of my face. After seeing Megan post her Kindle cover on Instagram I knew I needed a new one. I took her recommendation and got this one, and it's definitely made it easier to find my Kindle. It comes in 19 colors total so if Rose Gold isn't your thing, they probably have an option that would work:

4. Stories on the Daily Week 4
If you're following me on Instagram, here's what you can expect to see on my stories this coming week. I'm also having co-hosts each week (thanks to Kristen and Caryl for being my first two co-hosts!) so if any of my blog or Instagram friends are interested in co-hosting for a week, just let me know!
Have a great weekend and I'll see you back on Monday with a new post!

    1. I honestly would never be as consistent if I weren't the one hosting/organizing! It definitely takes some effort and planning to get it done.

  2. Well thanks to Express and their generosity, I have a $20 birthday reward! I'm going to be shopping next week at the actual store and I'm looking forward to it. I love that pink blazer but not sure I need it or that I'd wear it enough. The tie front tee on the other hand would get plenty of use. It will be a question of what my heart says and what my head says, lol!
Colorful clutches are so much fun, I have one I love but I'd love to add another if I could find an affordable option.
    Have a wonderful weekend Gina!!!

    1. With Florida weather I am guessing the t-shirt will get more use, but definitely go where your birthday wishes guide you! Have fun shopping and can't wait to see what you get. And I hear you about the affordable options - I'll have to do some Amazon browsing. :)

  3. I'm kind of excited we have the same kindle cover now! I didn't think about it being easier to find in the dark (I was just like, ooooo rose gold...) but now that I think about it, it is. Glad I could help because you have certainly helped me fill my kindle with books.

    1. LOL yes, my Kindle would be sitting on a seat in my car or in a console and I wouldn't be able to find it at first glance bc I have black interior. The Rose Gold is a game changer...plus it's pretty! I love it! Thanks for the recommendation and glad I'm helping you fill yours!

  4. Love the t-shirt but how sheer is it? Does a bra show thru? I haven’t had a chance to get to a store to check it out. I’m a little older and don’t wear anything sheer.

    1. Totally understand not wanting anything too sheer! It is thin and lightweight so I think some colors (e.g. white) could have issues with being see through. I wear a nude bra underneath and personally don't think it shows through. (I didn't do any editing with these pics to change the see-throughness of the top if that makes sense!) The navy stripe version I have doesn't show through at all. So if you like the style and want to be sure it won't show, I would go for one of the darker colors.

  7. ooh i love most of the prompts for stories on the daily next week! i totally need find my iPhone for my kindle too.. i just need to be able to call it actually haha. i'm always losing it. i have the same cover, but in a blue print. it definitely stands out, but not if i accidentally stuff it in the couch cushions or it's in a random tote bag somewhere lol. i'm obsessed with that top, a girl at work is literally wearing one day and gah, i want it. stupid long torso.

  8. I really do like your tee, I can see why it's such a popular trend! I've tried knotting my tees a few times and I really like the results! :) Haven't been able to find a nice simple tie front top like this yet though.

Hope that you have a lovely weekend ahead of you! I have a friend's birthday party tonight I'm looking forward to :)

    1. Thanks Mica! Every time I try to tie/knot one of my regular tees it doesn't turn out quite like I want (bunchy in all the wrong spots!) so I'm glad this one is meant to be this way.
