Memorial Day 5/28/18

|
Hello and Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all have a fun and/or relaxing day planned. I'm not sure how many people will be reading blogs today but I decided to stick with my usual schedule and share a couple of "three ways to wear" options for some favorite pieces that are on sale now.

1. Tie Front Top
This top is on sale for under $30 through today and it's pretty easy to dress up, down and in between. I found it ran true to size (reviews were a little mixed on this). If you wanted I suppose you could tie the wraps in the back for a clean front, but the knot in the back would make me uncomfortable with all the driving I do.
2. Lace Trim Cami
These camis are so affordable (only $17 on the current Memorial Day Sale) and a nice little change from a basic cami. They run true to size with adjustable straps.

Here's a little Monday Memorandum (a.k.a. random chit chat) before you go today!

1. Five facts you didn't know about Memorial Day. I didn't know any of these but I found them each interesting, especially the fact that we celebrate at the end of May because that's when the most flowers are in bloom!

2. ShopRunner: I've mentioned this before, but since I had an offline conversation about this with a family member I thought it might be worth repeating today. If you shop at retailers like like Express, American Eagle, and Ann Taylor, you might want to consider a ShopRunner account. (And that's not an affiliate link so I get nothing for telling you this - I just think it's worth sharing!) It's like Amazon Prime for a group of retail stores. You pay an annual fee of $79 and you get two-day shipping on all of their retailers. And if you have an AmEx card, your ShopRunner account is free! You just have to register and link the two accounts. You don't even have to use your Amex card on purchases from those retailers to get the free shipping. You can use any payment method you want, just make sure you're logged into your ShopRunner account before you purchase.

3. Best Burgers: If you don't feel like firing up the grill today, head to Five Guys instead since they make the Best Burgers in America according to this article. I'm actually not a big hamburger person (I don't like messy foods that are eaten with hands) so I can't say I have a strong opinion on that matter, but I do favor McDonald's fries if we're on the subject of fast food!

4. Cobra Kai
If you're looking for a new show to watch, we just discovered Cobra Kai on YouTube Red and the whole family is loving it! It picks up on the lives of the characters from Karate Kid (the original with Ralph Macchio) 30 years later. It's rated PG-13, so parents of younger children may want to watch it after the kids go to bed. We binge-watched several episodes on Saturday night and I can't remember the last time our family was all enjoying one show this much. We've been laughing and enjoying all of the character and relationship development. Lots of nostalgia for the parents and plenty of teen stuff to hold the kids attention.

Thanks for stopping by today! I was hoping to do a bit more of a sales roundup today or share a collage of some things I ordered, but opted to enjoy relaxing and family time instead. And if you're like me you probably don't need any extra shopping temptations at this point either! Happy Memorial Day!

  1. Both camis are so cute, thanks for not tempting me further lol. I actually don't like Mc Donald's fries anymore, I feel like they have gotten worse. BurgerFi also has amazing burgers not sure you have that chain in San Diego. Also Shoprunner is also available at saks, neiman marcus, and so many other stores. It's so convenient.

    1. I don't think we have BurgerFi here! And yes...there are a whole bunch of other stores that work with ShopRunner...my wish is that they would get Abercrombie, LOFT and Gap/Old Navy/BR on board. The shipping takes forever for me with those places. (It's strange to me that Ann Taylor works with ShopRunner but not LOFT!)

  2. Hmmmmmmm ShopRunner sounds fabulous!!! What a great idea. Cobra Kai is one I haven't really heard of before, I am always looking for either a good book or a good series to get into. We are headed out to Kohl's to shop for a new mattress topper for my son. I may have to take a peak at some shops for myself. Have a great Memorial Day Gina!

  5. Oh wow I didn't know that 5 Guys are considered the "best" burgers... although I'm sure that's pretty subjective. They do make great burgers though! I love that fun tie-front top, the tie makes it so unique. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!

  6. I like burgers, but I normally eat them sans bun with a fork! I think the bun takes away from the flavor. That is really interesting about Shoprunner! I didn't know it was free with an AmEx card! That is great news!

  7. I’m glad you had a good Memorial Day! I didn’t do much shopping, but I always seem to have a running wishlist :)

I had a huge crush on Ralph from the karate kid when I was growing up so I might need to tune into that show!

I love burgers, but only if they aren’t greasy! My fave will always be in n out ;) five guys was wayyy too greasy for me when I tried it!
