Three Ways to Wear a Red Top

|
Red has always been a bit of a challenge for me to style so I don't tend to buy a lot of it. But I've been getting some good use out of this red top from Target so I wanted to round up a few of the ways I've worn it while it's still stock. I also just got a tip in the comments that it's part of a BOGO 50% off tops sale at Target this week so that's even better! It's a great piece to wear now with a layer and on its own throughout the summer.

After years of liking the color but struggling to style it, I'm just happy to have a few outfit options for it now! One other nice thing I'm finding about red is that it works well for all seasons. I usually tend to stick to neutrals with a couple of accent colors thrown in each season, but with this piece I don't feel like I have to stash it away when the seasons change. I just have to layer it with pieces that are appropriate for the weather. Do you have any colors you've had to "work" a little harder to incorporate into your wardrobe? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Great day to show that top since it's part of the BOGO 50% off at Target right now! I struggle with red too but I have no idea why, it's a pretty color and I always like it when I wear it. It does work for every season too so that really makes me wonder what holds me back from buying more of it. I like all the ways you've shown it here and the pintuck seems like it would look great on every body type. Great top Gina!

    1. I'm so glad you let me know it's on sale today! I'm sure anyone will have an easy time finding a second top in order to "save" money! Ha. I've held off buying red a lot because I think it's hard to style and can make me feel LOUD. I think I like it better layered so it's not so flashy. But it's funny because I don't usually see it as a loud color on others. Makes no sense so I'm trying to get over it. LOL.

  2. I'm usually down for red accessories, but I did order a cute and simple little red dress. I'm hoping I just love it in person.

    1. I agree! I love red accessories...or at least bags. I like red shoes on other but not as much on my own feet. Can't wait to see your new dress- hope it works out!

  5. I like all three ways that you have styled it and that they are all pretty different. It's nice to have a versatile top. I always like when you wear the leather jacket. It adds some fun edge!

    1. Thanks Amy Ann! That jacket has been such a fun addition to my closet. I had a faux leather jacket before but the styling on this one really makes a difference!

  6. I often avoid red because I find it hard to wear, too. You've given some great options! I really like it paired with black and how edgy that outfit looks!

  10. It's good to try new colors, Gina...and I think you've succeeded fabulously with this red top!! You're going to laugh, but I have the opposite problem. I have so much red in my closet that I've been trying not to buy it and to work in other colors!!!
