Three Ways to Wear a Purple Cardigan | On the Daily EXPRESS

Three Ways to Wear a Purple Cardigan

Happy Friday! In case you haven't heard, Express has a storewide 40% off sale for Easter Weekend. The sale runs through Monday, and I wanted to share a few ways I've worn some of my current favorites while the price is right. In March, my most-clicked item was my purple cardigan from this post. With the current promotion it's under $30 and easily one of my favorite Spring purchases so far. The best part is that it coordinates easily with other wardrobe basics so you probably won't have to buy anything new to go with it!

Purple Cardigan, White Jeans:

I wore this outfit to a doctor's appointment earlier this week and got three compliments on this outfit before I left the building. That's probably an all time compliments per hour record for any outfit I've worn! It really felt nice, especially since I wasn't wearing anything fancy. One person said she was mentally noting each pieces so she could try to put something together on her own, which really made my day (that's a girl after my own heart!). But these really are pretty simple pieces! Gray tank, white jeans and some spring sandals. The purple cardigan is the main thing that makes it a little extra. All pieces I'm wearing ran true to size, and yes, these maternity tanks are still my favorite even though I'm not pregnant. They have zero maternity details...they're just longer and come in a nice thick fabric with a neckline that works well for me.

Purple Cardigan, Blue Distressed Jeans:

All details for this outfit are in the original post, but if you're still having cooler weather and hesitant about the shorter sleeve length of this cardigan, I personally like the look of the peekaboo long sleeves underneath. It's still a fun way to incorporate Spring colors without freezing!

Purple Cardigan, Black Jeans:

The pumps and black pants give this outfit a dressier look, and depending on your dress code, this cardigan could also work in an office setting with slacks (or a skirt) and a cami or blouse instead of my jeans + t-shirt. My favorite black jeans are also on sale for under $40. They ran true to size for me and don't feel "Low Rise" despite the name. They seem about like Mid Rise jeans at Express, and they were true to size for me as well. At 5'4" I take the Short length, and I find these run narrower through the ankle than my black jeans from Express.

I'm keeping this one short today since it's been that kind of week, but I'm planning to do some outfit recaps and sale talk over the weekend so I hope you'll stop by!

  1. the grey, purple and white really is a great mix, have a great weekend. My goal is to avoid all the sale lol.

    1. LOL, good luck with your sale avoidance! I don't know if I can be quite that strong, but I'm definitely trying to be careful.

  2. Very pretty purple - not so "in your face purple" - which is what I think a lot of women think of when they hear purple. I can see why you'd get compliments, you wear this so well.
Hope your weekend is a great one Gina!!!

    1. Thanks so much, Kellyann! And I agree...this shade of purple is more wearable and than a lot of more bold shades. I think it would flatter a lot of skin tones, too.

  3. Happy Easter! I hope to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party!

  4. I told myself I was done shopping--I just bought a ton of stuff for spring... but that cardigan! I love the color and don't have anything in that shade. I love that it looks like it would work for any season too. Have a good Easter!

  5. I am loving the muted purple color of your cardigan and the longer length! I had a purple cardigan I donated a few months ago because I couldn't find anything to wear with it, but this one is a much nicer color!

  6. The Combo of purple cardigan with black jeans and leopard pumps looking adorable and so gorgeous;best combo with under white tee.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment! I sincerely appreciate each and every one and always do my best to answer questions promptly!
