Everyday Outfits + TGIF 3/2/18

|
Hello and happy Friday! As usual, I'm sharing some mirror selfies of recent outfits I've worn, plus a a few relevant details about sizing, where to buy, etc. I also have my TGIF talk at the end of the post with some miscellaneous fashion and lifestyle related topics. Over the last couple of weeks I've been posting some of my outfits on the weekends rather than having six on Friday, and that's been a good change for me on the time management front. So today's outfits are all new, and the weekend posts (if they happen) will have recaps/selfie versions of new outfits plus anything else that didn't make it to the blog.

Outfit Recap:

Black Marled Cardigan, Strappy Cami:

Outfit Notes: This cardigan is one of the warmest pieces I own so I've been wearing it as much as I can while we're still having winter weather (See previous outfits with this here and here). I'm wearing a size Small and this brand typically runs small, so I recommend going up a size from your sizing in Express or LOFT cardigans. My strappy tank is from SheIn and it sold out before I had a chance to post it. This one is almost identical and comes in multiple sizes (I'm wearing a Small for reference). I opted for flat boots this time since my youngest wanted to walk to/from school this day and I knew also knew I'd be doing returns at the mall later. Sometimes I'll switch shoes for different activities during the day but this time I picked one pair that would work all day.

Pink Sweater, Ripped Knee Jeans:
Pink Sweater (c/o) | Jeans | Taupe Boots (c/o)

Outfit Notes: I wore this sweater almost exactly the same way the last time I wore it, but I was short on time so I didn't feel like re-inventing the wheel. My sweater is a one-size piece, which fits best fpr XS-M. For more size options try this pink v-neck sweater or this plus size version, both for under $20. My boots and jeans are both true to size. This was an easy grab-and-go outfit for a hair appointment plus the usual after school activities later in the day.

Grey Cardigan, White Tee:

Outfit Notes: On Monday I shared four ways to wear taupe knee high boots, and it looks like at some point I'll have to update that post with a few more outfits! Most pieces I'm wearing are sold out but they're solid basics with current similar options. At one point I owned the similar grey cardigan I linked above, but I gave it to my mom when she came to visit. I can still tell you first hand that it fits true to size, is a good transition-weather weight and a great value for the $22 price tag.

T.G.I.F.
On Fridays I like to share a few random things to go along with my outfits. I use the acronym T.G.I.F. to share any words and topics come to mind for each of the letters. Here's my list this week!

T- Target Dupes
I am pretty sure T for Target is going to be a common thing here, especially if they keep coming out with great dupes like these sandals! The second pair isn't an exact dupe, but the styling is very similar and they would serve the same purpose. I have the second pair (DV Effie) in a more gray-ish shade and I did wear them a lot last summer, so I wouldn't mind owning the beige pair too. I've also never purchased the Chloe or Marc Fisher espadrille wedges (first pair below) that were so popular the last two summers, but for the Target price I might be willing to give the trend a try!
Top:  Marc Fisher Adalyn $160 |  Target Sandals $33
Bottom: Dolce Vita Effie (Sold Out) $150 | Target Sandal $35

Target's also having a BOGO 50% off sale on sandals, but unfortunately neither of these are included in the sale.

G- Going Back
I shared my purchases from the Express President's Day Sale in this post, but unfortunately most pieces are going back. The only keeper was this neutral sweater. It's true to size, lightweight and will be perfect for Spring weather, so I'll be photographing and sharing it here soon.

I- In Case You Missed It...
I really love this L'Occitane Shower Oil and how well it moisturizes my dry winter skin. My first bottle was a birthday gift and it lasted me about a month. I was all set to purchase a replacement when I saw that they make these refill packages. I shared this on my Instagram Stories and many people said they hadn't seen the refill packages either so I wanted to share it here too in case you missed it there.
Original Size (8.4 oz - $25)  | Refill (16.9 oz - $34)

It's still not quite a budget-friendly item, but the refill gives you twice as much product for only $10 more. I am hooked on what it does for my skin so it's worth it to me, and I'll take any savings I can get!

F- Found
A budget-friendly option for one of my favorite items. Yesterday I shared my favorite camo tee that's included in the Shopbop sale. But even thought it's included in the sale, it's part of a 3-pack and you still have to spend a minimum of $200 just to get a discount on the t-shirts. If that's not in the budget right now, I found this similar v-neck camo tee for under $25. And it's only $15 if you buy a second color!

Thanks for reading today and have a great weekend!

  1. I never knew about the refill pack for L'Occitane - I love that stuff but it is pricey. But hey, there are worse things I could splurge on, right? Lol.
Those Target dupes are amazing, I swear they are killin' it.
You do such a great job with your mirror selfies - I have the hardest time and I'm still trying to figure it out!

  4. I’m so glad you posted about the refill! I bought some for myself after your birthday post about it and think it’s an awesome product too! I saw it on your story but forgot to screen shot. Thanks! Those wedges are super cute! Might have to snag a pair to update the summer sandals in my closet.
