Everyday Outfits + TGIF 2/2/18

|
TGIF is pretty spot on for my sentiments this week! The kids are out of school around here today, but it seems like they already packed 5-days worth of homework, activities and events into the last four days. I'm relieved that the weekend is here early for them, although I'm sure their idea of a fun way to spend the extra day off (trampoline park?) won't quite line up with mine (mall? pedicure?). Like always I have my everyday outfits to share here today, along with my version of TGIF...including a little something different if you make it to the end of the post!

Outfit Recap Part 1:

Black Marled Cardigan, Leggings:

Outfit Details: Full outfit details here along with some chatting about my current health and fitness goals. For quick reference the sweater runs a little small and I'm wearing a Small. All other pieces run true to size.

Black Moto Jacket, Red Top:

Outfit Details: Full details for this outfit here, along with five other ways to wear red. I'm wearing a Small in this jacket, and an XS in the red top. Normal sizing for the the jeans and pumps.

Denim Jacket, White Tee, Black Jeans:

Outfit Details: My tee, jeans and boots all run true to size. I was in a rush to get dressed on this particular day so I skimmed through my Instagram feed and decided to repeat this outfit with some very slight changes (e.g. regular pants + tee instead of leggings + tunic, crossbody instead of satchel) to fit my activities.

Outfit Recap Part 2:

Mocha Cardigan, Blush Stripe Tee:

Outfit Details: This cardigan (which is really comfortable...kind of like a thick t-shirt/almost sweatshirt material, by the way) comes in Small-XL and I'm wearing a Small here. My t-shirt is from Abercrombie last year and they have a current option with a similar stripe color. Their t-shirts typically run true to size for me (same as what I would wear at Express, Gap, etc.) All other pieces ran true to size.

Navy Zip Up Sweater, White Jeans

Outfit Details: The first time I wore this sweater (posted here and on Instagram) I got some great feedback on more options for styling navy. Noelle suggested trying this with white jeans so I decided to try that option before I forgot! I also added the red bag after seeing Rachelle pair hers with a navy blazer...this outfit actually ended up being a more casual option of the one she wore!

Contrast Collar Athleisure Top:

Outfit Details: This is the type of thing I like to wear when I'm not actually going anywhere, but I don't want to be embarrassed to answer the door or make a quick run to Starbucks, etc. I'm wearing a Small in this top (which comes in quite a few other color combos, too) and I loved that it was plenty long enough for me to wear by itself with leggings. I'm 5'4", so it might not be long enough if you're much taller than me

T.G.I.F.
On Fridays I share a few little extra things here to go along with my outfits. Since most of these outfits have already been posted on Instagram or in a full post, I like to have something new here for my regulars! I use the T.G.I.F. acronym to share whatever random words and topics come to mind for each of the letters. Here's my list this week!

T- Trying
I'm trying out a new way to get your input on different types of blog content today, so make sure to find the details at the end of the post if you're interested in sharing your opinion!

G- Game Time
Will you be watching the Big Game this weekend? Or maybe just the halftime show? I'm not a fan of the Patriots or Eagles so I don't really care that much about the outcome, but I usually like watching the Super Bowl anyway for entertainment, social fun, and just to be in the know when everyone else is talking about it!

I- Indulgent
If you want an indulgent shower experience, I highly recommend this L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil.

I feel like the last blogger ever to try it, but Rachelle and Caryl sent me a bottle for my birthday and now I understand what all the fuss is about! And honestly their timing couldn't have been better. It's been really warm and dry here, and this immediately made a difference in making my skin soft and moisturized.

F- Feedback
As promised last week, I am following through with my Reader Feedback Survey today! I am not promoting this survey on social media or even in the post title. While that will certainly limit the amount of responses I get, I'm doing that on purpose. I want this to be for you, the person who is already reading my blog and making it to the end of the post because you want to! I want to limit the responses so that your opinion is really heard and given greater weight. I tried not to make it too long and it doesn't require any personal info from you. It's designed only to get your input on blog content so I can fine tune things here and make my content most worthwhile to you. If you have a few minutes to spare I would truly value your input!

  1. I have L'Occitane almond hand cream and it smells so good, I'd love to get the shower oil and actually the whole line but it is a little pricey, might be a great gift idea!

    1. Well now you know what to ask for on Valentine's Day! :) I agree - it's perfect to give/receive as a gift.

  2. Great mix of dressy casual and everyday casual look. I'll only be watching the halftime show as well.

    1. Thanks Rachelle! I think I need to watch the Super Bowl with more females because the men always turn down the volume and talk during the halftime show so I don't get to experience it fully. I have to record it at home to make sure I can really watch it!

  3. For the last 5-6 years everyone continues to say “I’m watching for the commercials” but I have been disappointed! They’re overridden by commercials out to win best dramatic performance. I miss when they were ALL funny and not just sponsored by those who could dish the most money for a spot. Ok end rant.
I love love all the layers in this post! Your sweater collection is so robust!
And I’m so glad you love the shower oil! It is the best! I wish the lotion packaging was different because I hate getting it under my fingernails! But I started using cotton pads to swipe and then wipe on my body before rubbing it in with my hands like usual and that has made me re-love it again! Not that you asked... ha! Happy Friday!

    1. Well thanks for the note on the lotion regardless! I actually haven't opened it yet because I'm using up some others, but I will keep that in mind!

  4. I love navy! It's a great color instead of black to pair with a bright color like coral, red, or bright pink! I haven't tried that shower oil either, but I have been hearing so many wonderful things about it! I will have to keep it on my wish list next time I want to indulge myself. Have a great weekend!
