Plaid and Plum + Link Up

|
Old Navy isn't one of my go-to stores for myself, but it is one of my favorite places to shop for my kids. Sometimes when I'm shopping for their clothes...I accidentally end up finding one or two things I wouldn't mind for myself. That was exactly the case with this white and black plaid shirt.

When I saw it I was immediately reminded of a similar plaid shirt by Rails that I've seen on numerous celebrities, like Kate Hudson. It's not an identical match but it's an an excellent budget-friendly option and $30 and it's so soft and comfortable! I'd say it's a light-to-medium weight material: not too summery-thin but also not a thick flannel. It ran true to size for me and runs fairly long so it stays tucked in easily, although it's not quite long enough to wear on its own with leggings

My boots are from Express, and I consistently order a half-size down in their shoes. These actually have a little more padding in the foot bed than their shoes usually do so I was pleasantly surprised by that!

Rails makes several other plaid print options and they're some of my favorites on the market. But if a brand name splurge isn't in the budget, there are several other prints at Old Navy in the exact style as the shirt I'm wearing above that could be styled the same was the designer options:

Last weekend I did a seasonal closet clean out, including bringing out some of my bigger fall bags like this plum studded option from Amazon a couple of years back:

Mine is sold out in this color (although still available in the tan version which I also own), but there are lots of great options from high to low end for this color of bag in similar styles:

1. Shop Michael Kors Bags (Larger Mercer Tote)
2. Aldo Bag $40
3. Shop Rebecca Minkoff Bags (Regan Satchel)
4. Amazon Bag $60 (I have this in Black and Blush and it's a favorite!)
5. Shop Milly Bags (Large Satchel)
6. Amazon Bag $70

Before I go I just wanted to say thank you to the handful of you who already Liked my page over on Facebook! I had a page when I first started the blog but found it too much to manage so many social media accounts. I'm finally trying to get going again over there again because I have a few ideas for things I want to try to engage with you all a little more and I'm hoping Facebook will be the right platform for it. So if you're on Facebook and have a chance to like my page it would be greatly appreciated! And if you're a blogger, don't forget to link up below. See you on Friday!

  4. I am the same way in regards to Old Navy - it's hit or miss. When it's a hit, look out. When it's a miss, see you later;)

  6. I have a Facebook page too but never go on there and I don't even understand how to use it! I'll have to go on soon and find you! And I love that plaid shirt! I have only one in my closet and it is by rails. It's so incredibly soft but this looks just as soft so it's a great find! I don't go into old navy often but I usually find something I love when I do!

  13. That is a great bag!! And that top reminds me of my oversized plaid shirt from Express! I got rid of a few of them but that was one of the few I kept. So versatile! And I agree. I don't go to Old Navy too often but every now and then you run into a gem like this!
