Burgundy Cardigan, Currently + Link Up

|
So far October is off to a pretty ordinary start around here! I couldn't think of anything interesting to add to this post besides, "here's another outfit I wore," so I thought I would join Anne for her monthly "Currently" series. Read on to see what I'm currently Styling, Saving, Searching, Picking and Making!

Currently Styling...
...long cardigans and camis! I keep repeating this same combo (albeit in some different color combinations, textures, etc.) so I've made a mental note that I need to switch it up next time I do outfit pictures. In case you missed it, you can see my last two here and here, and another version in my Everyday Outfits here.
Cardigan (c/o) | Cami | Jeans | Shoes | Bag (c/o) | Necklace | Earrings

This cardigan runs Small-XXXL and I'm wearing a size Small above. I think it runs true to size, but if you're normally an XS the Small should fit. It comes in practically every color of the rainbow so if you want the longline style in a specific color it's worth checking out. I was pretty impressed with the quality for the $20 price tag! Also, this style comes in two different lengths: the longer version I'm wearing here and the shorter version that sits just below the hips. It's not easy to tell from the product description which version you're selecting, so you have to examine the length in the product display. I find it helpful to zoom in on the pocket placement. If the pockets are positioned at the very bottom of the cardigan, it's a shorter length. If there's a lot of material between the pockets and the hem, it's the longer version.

Currently Saving...
...$10 on my purchases at Abercrombie in-store or online. Every time I make a purchase or return something I bought online in a store, my receipt has this at the bottom:
All I have to do is go to the website listed and take a two minute survey about my experience.  The questions are easy and you rate them on a scale of 1-10. "How clean was the store? How friendly were the associates?" etc. In the end you get a custom code for $10 off $50, and so far I've been able to use that discount even on items that were already on sale. I've done this multiple times now so the savings add up! Just thought I'd share this tip in case you're tossing your receipts or thinking the survey will be too long and not worth the trouble. It's really not bad and a great way to save.

Currently Searching...
...or a way to get Hamilton Tickets. This is a long shot (...and I am not throwing away my shot...) but Hamilton is coming to San Diego in January and I really want to go with my family. I don't know if we can justify the cost or even get tickets if we decided to splurge on this, but it's on my mind all the same.

Currently Picking...
...up my kids from school, the bus stop, after school activities etc. Normally in October we also do some kind of pumpkin patch/pumpkin picking activity but I'm not sure if my kids will be into that this year now that they're in the tween stage. We haven't talked about it yet so TBD on that one!

Currently Making...
...Molasses Sandwich Cookies and other Fall baked goods.
Last Fall my son got a delicious molasses sandwich cookie at a local bake shop and afterwards I went to work finding/creating a similar recipe through trial and error so I could make them at home. I finally came up with a recipe we liked and shared in this post. I just made my first batch of these for the season this week and loved having that rich smell fill the house again!
