Embroidered Shorts + Link Up

|
This year I've made it a point to break out of my fashion comfort zone a little bit more. I guess I've been inspired by all the books I've been reading about changing your life and being your best self! That's not to say that I think trying different fashion styles makes me a better person! But it has made me less afraid to try new things in general and that's a good thing! I have always admired the embroidered shorts that my blogger friend Rachelle wears (see her recent outfit here), so I decided to try the trend for myself before summer ends!

Jacket: Nordstrom | Tank: Target | Shorts: c/o Romwe (Only $8) | Sandals: Target | Necklace: Stella & Dot | Bag: c/o Amazon | Bracelets: Charmed Stacks [for 10% off use code: onthedailyx]

These Shorts are "One Size" only, but I'm going to say they should fit sizes 00-4. That said, they're tight in the waist. Even though it's an elastic waistband, it's a snug one so if you tend to carry your weight in the middle you might find it too tight. But they have plenty of room in the legs and booty so pear shapes in that size range should have plenty of room.

I shared all of my sizing tips for shopping at places like Romwe and SheIn here, and I had to put a lot of them to use in determining if these would fit since they were "One Size" and didn't have any model or user photos. Thankfully they worked out because they really are a fun alternative to my usual jean shorts and chino shorts.

This Jacket runs true to size and is my favorite brand of denim jackets! (I also own a lighter version and a white version from this brand). I love the flattering cut, the stretch, and the not-heavy fabric. The front view photo below also gives a better look at some of the distressing on this jacket. You can also view my last outfit with it here. (Oops, I wore the same necklace with this jacket twice. So much for trying new things!)

  7. With elastic waist items it's always hard to determine how tight the elastic will be! Good thing these worked for you because they are so cute! I love the embroidery! Trying something new really worked out for you!
