Crochet Detail Tee + Style on the Daily Link Up

|
I hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July! We had a surprise visit from some family members so we took them on one of our favorite hikes (Torrey Pines) and had a nice time catching up with them over lunch afterwards. It was a nice way to get out and enjoy America the Beautiful for Independence Day. My hiking outfit wasn't worth posting on the blog (although if you're truly curious it was almost identical to what I wore here when I took my sisters on the same hike last summer), but here's another outfit I wore last week that I liked a little better!

Top: c/o Romwe | Jeans: c/o Mott & Bow | Shoes: Target | Bag: c/o Charming Charlie | Necklace: Kendra Scott | Bracelets: Charmed Stacks (save 10% with code onthedailyx)

This top is one size only, and I think it will fit best if you normally wear size XS or Small in brands like Express or Gap. If you normally wear a Medium it could work if you don't mind a more fitted look. The color name of this apricot, and my monitor display made me think it would be a little more peachy (erm...apricotty I guess?) than it is in real life. I'd say it's more of a creamy ivory than apricot.  That said, I am really happy with it! It's a really nice lightweight for summer and I love the crochet detail. It looks a little more dressed up than a plain t-shirt, but you still get the comfort of a t-shirt! I chose to wear it with pants for a coffee date with a friend, but when it warmed up I switched to shorts and sandals so I'll show you that option below as well.

I don't know how many people will be shopping for black jeans at this time of year, but I do love this pair and still get some use out of them in the summer, especially for going out at night. They ran true to size for me, and I have a more detailed review of them here.

On the other hand, I wear my Charmed Stacks bracelets the most during the summer since they aren't hidden by long sleeves! Tatiana (the shop owner) was kind enough to offer a 10% discount code for my readers. I have several of her sets that are a one-piece stack, but I also have several sets of bracelet trios, and I tend to mix and match those sets a lot to whatever combination I want for that particular outfit. To be honest they are all mixed in a drawer and I'm not sure which sets of three came together at this point! But if you see me wear something and don't see something similar in their current inventory, just message them through their Etsy page and they can create a custom set for you. I've done this myself and currently have a request in for another set with silver metal since I could use a set with some silver.

Currently...
I thought I'd join Anne & Stephanie in sharing some things that are currently going on around here since I do other things in life besides wear clothes! If nothing else, maybe it adds a little more context to what I'm wearing since so many outfit choices are determined by our lifestyles. Here's what I'm currently documenting, accomplishing, enjoying, reading, and spending!

Documenting...
...the books I read every month in my monthly book reviews (most recent reviews here or head to Categories > Book Reviews from the navigation menu up top).

Accomplishing...
...a lot of minor tasks that aren't especially rewarding but need to be done. e.g. Filling out some paperwork for school, getting prescriptions refilled, and replacing some really worn out curtains in my bathroom.

Enjoying...
...the less hectic summer schedule. I cut back on some of the evening activities the kids and I had during the school year and it's been a much needed, positive change. After pushing myself hard to get my Black Belt in May (training 3 to 5 days per week), I'm taking the summer off from Tae Kwon Do and letting my body get a little more rest!

Reading...
...Beartown. Kristen raved about this one her last book review post so I knew I needed to read it. I'm only a few pages into it though so not much to say about it yet! Hopefully I'll finish it in time for my July Book Reviews on the 12th.

Spending...
...quality time with family going on evening walks. About once a week we've been going on walks in the evening as a family and it's funny how such a simple, easy activity makes us all feel so good. When we all get out of the house and get some fresh air the conversation just seems to flow so naturally.

  20. Hi Gina,

I really love your Romwe top. It is so pretty. And it looks perfect with your black jeans. Even if people may not be shopping for black jeans right now, you inspired me to get a pair.
