Last time I wore this cami (see it here) I had two votes to try it with olive shorts . I loved how it turned out so thanks for the tip! I also liked the way Erin styled hers with jeans (here) and I'm sure I'll be trying that in cooler weather!

This outfit was completely inspired by this one on Skye, down to the striped bag from Kohls she finally convinced me I needed.

I think I've had more date nights and dinners with friends in the last four weeks than I have in the entire first half of the year, which is why my heels have suddenly been making more appearances in my outfits. I have these shoes in Black and "Leopard" (which is actually Cheetah, sigh) and there are still a few sizes left on clearance for under $30. (You can see how I last wore the so-called "Leopard" version here.)

I shared this outfit last week but only the top-down view, so I wanted to add it again for the front view since a couple of people asked about the fit of the shorts. The front view (in the collage after this image) should give a better indication of length, although I do have them rolled up one extra time for my own preference, so they can actually go even longer. In either case they still look longer on me than the model on the Guess website. Based on the fit of the shorts she's probably 5'10" or taller vs. my 5'4". And sizing is true to size but relaxed and with plenty of room in the waist and hips.

Lifeless to Real Life
Quick, someone think of a good name for people who put together flatlays! I'm not liking Flat-Layer. Apparel Artist maybe? Anyway, I celebrated Caryl's birthday in Tuesday's blog post, but my Caryl-inspired Instagram #OOTD came after the fact so it didn't get a quality side-by-side comparison until now.
Here's Caryl's original flatlay:

Favorite New Recipe

I think this might be my first time sharing a recipe here, but my five Snapchat followers might have noticed that I like to bake a lot and this one is too good and too easy not to share it here. If you like coffee and chocolate do yourself a favor and make this Mocha Marble Fudge from Betty Crocker. Sometimes fudge recipes can be complicated because they require a candy thermometer and specific boiling temperatures, but this one does not. If you can boil water on the stove top you can make this. My own version doesn't turn out as pretty because I'm not that artistic with the marbling, but once you taste it you won't care.
And speaking of my five Snapchat followers, this weekend is The Show with The Costume I've been prepping so expect there to be some glittery fun stuff happening in my Snaps this weekend. And what happens on Snapchat stays on Snapchat in this case, so don't miss out!
