(I did change necklaces in the third look between the two pictures for no particular reason. The tassel necklace in the front-view photos is from Target and no longer available.)

Re-stocked Favorites:

A couple of my favorite pieces from Express (that you've seen plenty of times here if you're a regular reader) were recently re-stocked or re-issued so if you missed out the first time around...they're baaaaack!

1. Striped Fitted Bateau Neck Sweater. Mine is two years old and it's been a great staple and transitional weather piece.

Just this year they brought it back in a few different color options. I checked it out in store and although I didn't take pictures, it is definitely the same fabric, fit and feel as my "old" version. The only difference I can see is that on the models the bateau neckline looks slightly higher and mine has a bit more of a scoop.

2. The Contrast Piping Portofino in Black with Ivory Piping is back now too:

Reading:

I used to love reading. And then I started a blog and just couldn't find the time for it anymore. After a year and a half I feel like I've finally gotten my blog/time management under somewhat better control, so this year I made a goal to read one book a month. (And big thanks to my bibliophile friend Kristen for keeping me motivated on this!)

I really enjoyed the last two books I read, so I thought I'd pass long the recommendations for those of you who enjoy reading regularly or might be looking for good book to take on a Spring Break trip.

Both of these books hooked me in very quickly and I couldn't wait to see how they ended. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say I give them both two thumbs up! (And I can definitely see The Girl on the Train becoming a movie...)

  2. The Girl on the Train!!!!! I read it in a day and a half. It was so good. I also love Big Little Lies. I had read The Husband's Secret last year too. I actully ended up reading all of her books over the last 6 months. To the outfits. I saw that striped cami on the shopping trip with my sister this past weekend and almost got it. I am going to wait until it gets a little bit warmer and then I'm sure there will be another pattern I want. I was really disappointed that my Express had zero jackets. I really wanted to try on a few. I tried on the keyhole dress on but the waist was very high - like under my boobs. It looked like a maternity dress and I don't need that. Ha! Have a great weekend!

  3. Loving the stripes on that barcelona! And I adore how you always make neutral pieces come together and make an eye-catching outfit (i.e. the gray moto jacket outfit)! Oh my gosh, can I tell you that I have not read anything since starting blogging either ;-( I seriously just can't seem to find the time, even tho I truly LOVE reading! I need to make that more of a priority again!

  5. I actually both of those books on my "to read" list right now! I've been trying to find more time to read lately too. I'm usually good for 2-3 books a month, right now. This month I have been slacking big time. lol! I started one a few days ago, so at least there's one for the month! I love that contrast piping black and white top. I have the opposite one, white with black. I love it! I have been wearing my striped top constantly too

  7. Love the pink and black! And, a big fan of white, gray, and black. I am waiting for a good Express sale, too. I wish the striped sweater came in long sleeve, rather than 3/4. Have a great weekend!
