The Secret Outfit Files

|
Within the space of a week, I had separate conversations with Erica and Carylee about some of our lackluster, un-blogged outfit choices and how much of a contrast they are to what we typically share with the world. Not to say we don't wear what we show on our blogs. We do! But there are some other looks we don't share because they just don't seem blog-worthy.

But then I thought...why not? It's a relief for me to see that everyone has their off days, so others probably feel the same. I decided to ask a few of my blogging friends to send me one of their un-shared outfit choices. Their "I don't feel like getting dressed" look. Or "these are workout clothes but I'm only running errands." Or even their PJs or lounge wear. I didn't expect many would want to participate, but I am happy to be wrong on this one! So please enjoy the juxtaposition of our less-inspired looks vs. our best foot forward.

I might have worked out in this...or not. But I wore it all day anyway:
Kellie off the Blog vs.  On the Blog

Ella Pretty off the Blog vs.  On the Blog

Tracy off the Blog vs. On the Blog

I may wear it, but I wouldn't want to blog it:
Carylee off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Noelle off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Rachelle off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Off the Daily Express vs. On the Daily Express

I woke up like this. No, really.
Erica off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Darcy off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Turn Down for What!
Kristen off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Jill off the Blog vs. On the Blog

Amy Ann off the Blog vs. On the Blog

I don't know about you, but I think $&(*& just got real up in here. And I liked it. For the most part, I really enjoy getting dressed; putting on a nice outfit boosts my confidence and my mood throughout the day. But then...there are some days I'm just not into it. And it's nice to know that I'm definitely not alone in having those days!

    1. Ha ha, thank you. When I first heard that song, I didn't get it. Now I realize it's an incredibly useful saying!

  2. I agree with Rachel that everyone does still look cute! Or maybe it's just that I'm so used to seeing their blog style and I know the "real" them anyway, so it's refreshing to see the uncut version. Either way- I loved this! Yay for all the participants! Http://morepiecesofme.com

  8. Love this post! I couldn't wait to hop on here to see it! I would have loved to participate but when I got the email, I started thinking of all the things I could wear to be apart of this post and that was definitely not the point!!! Can't get out of my head sometimes! Each lady looks just as fab on and off the blog! So great to see the side by side comparison!

  11. Oh geez! Now my picture is out there in the blogosphere but that's what I'm in most of the day. I tend to put off running until I muster up enough energy or until I have to go because it's getting way too hot outside. I will change if I have to go to the store or to pick up my kids though (with minimal makeup). I loved this post and that you had so many willing participants.

  14. Oh girl I am the queen of workout apparel (that may or may not have been used that they gym) all day on the weekends. Everyone's lucky if I even put on a bra or makeup those 2 days.

  15. It's funny, but I think everyone still looks pretty good when they aren't dressed up for the blog. I don't really see people in real life dressed like bloggers, so I just think everyone looks normal and cute. I don't love going out in my super casual clothes, but now I'm realizing that I'm much harsher on myself that others probably are. This was very interesting!

    1. Glad you enjoyed it, and YES, I'm pretty sure most of us are harder on ourselves than we need to be. I think we also have a different interpretation of "normal outfits" considering we virtually surround ourselves with the fashion blogging community!

  16. Oh girl, you are not the only one at all! I love dressing down just as much as I dress up!

  18. LOVE this! I am for sure one of those people changing into yoga pants as I walk in the door from work (literally as I walk in the door). It's so refreshing to see I am not the only one!

  19. Ok, I feel completely under dressed haha!! The outside would has never seen me before in glasses and now its forever in blogsphere lol! This was fun to participate in. I was happy to show my un-blog worthy self. We all have those less than perfect days, even though the rest of the ladies up there still look pretty damn good to me!!

Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!

    2. You are definitely not underdressed! You (and your daughter of course!) still look really cute, and I think some of the other ladies had very similar casual looks!

  20. This was so much fun to read (and participate in)! Dying over the captions - mine is too true...probably only work out 25% off the time I wear gym clothes - but it's better than nothing LOL! Your off-the-blog photo is hot :-) And I'd wear Noelle's off-the-blog outfit for an on-the-blog photo!

  31. This is so refreshing and cool. I may be one of the very few bloggers who shows many not-blog-worthy, very casual outfits on my blog without a drop of makeup. I am actually without makeup at least 30% of the times. Thank God for good skin. Everyone looks great to me both for the blog or other-wise. All these women have great styles. =)

Obviously I am catching up on my blog-reading so pardon the abundance of comments. But who doesn't want some love? =D
