The Barcelona Cami

|
After wearing my new Barcelona Cami (posted heretwo times in one week (different events, different people..no one had to know until I had to blab about it here!) I started thinking I could get some use out of the solid-colored options too. Then last Friday Carylee texted me saying that she ordered her first one and that they were marked down to $29.90, and that was all the justification I needed to start collecting.

I picked up basic black & white because I suspected they would go with the most things in my wardrobe. Then after browsing a little style inspiration from Pinterest, I realized that this cami is probably inspired by the Tibi Signature Silk Cami

Of course, the Express version is not silk like the Tibi version. But it's also $129.10 cheaper than the Tibi version, which is a lot more realistic for my budget.

Celebrities, on the other hand, are probably not so budget-conscious and have been frequently spotted wearing the Tibi Silk Cami:

And Pinterest came through with plenty of other great styling options for this type of cami:

Neiman Marcus / Piperlime / Tibi / Pinterest

I had no problem digging around my own closet and brainstorming ways to wear these. They are so easy to dress up and down and everything in between.

Needless to say, I am in love with these tops and excited about how many new outfit options I got just by adding a few simple pieces. I don't what European city Express will choose to name their next product after (Vienna? Marseille? Helsinki? Warsaw?), but if my track record with Portofino and Barcelona are any indication, I'll be collecting that too!

  1. I think I will make an exception on my shopping ban for this tank, you look stunning in it. I can even wear it to work with a cardigan.

    1. Aw, you are SO KIND. Thank you! And honestly, I am wondering "How did I get by WITHOUT this?" It's so perfect for dressing up and down and layering with cardigans, jackets, blazers etc. I seriously love it. They are a great price right now PLUS there's a promo code. So...sorry to enable but you won't regret it. :)

  3. OMG I love this! And you're such a good detective. I didn't even know the Tibi tank was a thing. Ha! I love the olive skinnies and chevron necklace combo. The lace cami (sans necklace) would have worked great with those pants too with red sandals! I'm so excited to get mine. Love this inspiration post!

    1. Oooh, yes! Love the idea of the lace with olive skinnies. These are so mix & match friendly. And glad I'm not the only one who didn't know about the Tibi cami being a "thing."

  6. I'll take the cheaper option any day! This is a great basic tank that you can combine any way, and I love all your looks! I always shy away from things that require a strapless bra though... Maybe some day I'll get over it and be able to rock it with your inspiration.

    1. I hate strapless bras too so I typically use a Nu Bra. I might have to add that detail into a future post.

    1. They often price these at Buy One, Get One for $19.90, but they are actually cheaper at $29.90 each. Especially if you only want one. Even for two at BOGO, it's 44.90+19.90 = $64.80, so $32.40 each. Plus there's a coupon code right now on the website or in your email box. :)

I went and bought two, even though I remotely dont look 1% as good as you or the other gorgeous women, but I use it to layer..They are super comfortable. Thank you for your extensive research.. :) Love all the three versions you have here..

  19. These camis are the perfect staple pieces. I always wear camis under knits, lace tops, deep V's and these ones are so pretty to be worn on their own. <3 Express version is lovely especially compared to the expensive Tibi version. I think I'll add a couple of these to my own collection. I really love your clean, chic, and effortless style Gina. ALL the outfits you come up with are things I would wear myself and feel confident in. Wonderfully put together. Hugs and kisses lovely lady, XOXO, Elif

  31. hi, I have 2 of those tops (express) I love the fact that they are reversible, but which bra do you wear? I tried a simple strapless one but by the middle of the day it kept going down and when I went to the bathroom you cold actually see thru :$

    1. Hi Laura! I have a strapless bra from Target that has been holding up well for me. Unfortunately they don't make/sell my exact one anymore. When my current strapless bra gives out, my next purchase is going to be this Wacoal Strapless Bra from Nordstrom. It's not a bargain but it has 250+ very positive reviews!

they're around $40 which is not so bad if you dont have to be pulling them up constantly :)
